Fort Dodge police officers responding to a report of gunfire Tuesday night ended up pursuing a vehicle and charging its driver with eluding.
Police Lt. Chuck Guthrie said there were no reports of injuries or property damage from the alleged gunfire.
Shots were reportedly fired at around 8 p.m. near the Mini Park along 10th Avenue Southwest. Guthrie said a police officer responding to the incident tried to stop a car that he spotted leaving the area. A short pursuit ensued and the vehicle was stopped at Fourth Avenue South and 15th Street.
Guthrie said one of the two juveniles in the car was briefly detained and then released. He said the other was charged with eluding and released to his parents.
He said it could not be determined if the juveniles had any connection to the reported gunshots.
