Nick Jonas on a Jonas Brothers Reunion: 'We're Going to Take Our Time'

For the past year, 19-year old Nick Jonas has been living on his own working on projects separate from his two brothers Joe and Kevin. Though his family will surely be there on opening night of his Broadway run in How To Succeed in Business Without Trying, it might be a while before Jonas Brothers fans see the trio sharing the same stage together.

“I think there will come a time when we decide we want to jump back in and make another group record and tour for our fans,” Jonas told PARADE. “But we're going to take our time and make sure that all the pieces are right and everything is where it should be.”

Despite the currently non-existent plans for a reunion, Jonas promises “there will definitely be a time when we will do that again.”

How well do you know the Jonas Brothers? Take the quiz!

What’s your favorite part of being on Broadway?
“It's where I started, so it's got a special place in my heart. The thing that attracted me most is that it's one of the only roles that lets a young man lead the show. Some incredible actors have played the role before and it's such an honor to be considered, to be able to go up and find my [J. Pierrepont] Finch, and hopefully play the role well.”

The play talks about the price of success and a young man finding the right path. Did you relate to that storyline?
“There is something really amazing about this character. He never lies but is able to work his way up the ladder of success in a really crafty way. His real goal is to have a career in business and he's so driven and incredibly passionate about wanting to have an amazing career. It's a really cool role and something I am really excited to dig into.”

Will it be hard for you and your brothers to reunite after working on such individual projects?
“I'm not sure. We have been in a different season as far as doing things on our own and really loving those opportunities. To have the opportunity and the time to do those things that we're passionate about as individuals. But I think there will come a time when we decide we want to jump back in and make another group record and tour for our fans. But we're going to take our time and make sure that all the pieces are right and everything is where it should be. There will definitely be a time when we will do that again.”

Will that reunion take the form of being a band and touring? Or something different?
“I think the next step for us would most likely, if not definitely, be another record. Music is where our hearts are and we love making music together and for our incredible fans.”

You love making sandwiches. Where did that come from?
“My first job when I was 6-years-old was working in a deli. I stocked the shelves, swept the floors, and just loved sandwiches. A family friend let me work at his deli and I got paid and everything. It was awesome. I really hope to open a deli one day. Making sandwiches is a real passion of mine.”

Are you a fancy sandwich man
?
“I just love the New York, New Jersey-style deli. No crazy tricks. Just good old fashioned sandwiches.”
