Ask Marilyn: More on Working Women
Mary McKeown of Flower Mound, Texas, writes:
Marilyn: I hope it is not tedious to point out that although a good percentage of married women worked in the 1950's, any woman who raised more than five children back then probably worked as hard as a working mother with a job. (September 16, 2012) Of course, people still say things like, "A mother's work is never done," but in the days when bigger families were the norm, that was especially so. With apologies if you have read or heard similar things once too often.
It never hurts to repeat this comment, Mary!
