Why does Ferentz get a pass?

Just wondering why Hawkeye fans are so quick to ignore all the troublesome (law-breaking) recruits Iowa has brought in under his command in exchange for wins. Alford was run out of town on a rail for a few similiar problems (no where near the same number of kids in trouble), but Ferentz is worshipped. Hypocrisy and win-at-all costs at its inglorious best. Would you want your son on a team that he recruits? Just wondering.
