Mavis Van Alstine

Mavis Van Alstine, of Fort Dodge, will celebrate her 85th birthday Thursday.

Her family includes her husband, Gail Van Alstine; Bruce and Judy Van Alstine, of Thor; Linda White, of Gowrie; Clark and Jennifer Van Alstine, of Belton, Missouri; and Carla and Rob Schreier, of Fort Dodge. She has 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mavis Sherman was born Sept. 26, 1934, in Manson. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High and AIB. She married Gail Van Alstine in September of 1953. She is retired from the St. Paul Lutheran Mission House along with her numerous volunteering.
