An upcoming evening of live blues music, food and a silent auction will support the efforts of the Fort Dodge YWCA to help women with children who are battling addiction.

The April 14 event in the historic auditorium inside the Phillips Luxury Apartments is being organized by the Fort Dodge Study Club, a women’s organization dedicated to philanthropic service, charitable giving and community spirit.

Every year the club holds a fundraiser with all proceeds going to an organization picked by the members.

The theme of this year’s event is “Stronger TogetHER” and all the money raised will go to the YWCA.

The YWCA, 826 First Ave. N., provides residential substance abuse and addiction treatment to women. It is one of only six in Iowa that serves women who have their children living with them.
