Dr. Victor Jaramillo joins neurology clinic in Fort Dodge
UnityPoint Clinic Kenyon Road — Neurology has welcomed Dr. Victor Jaramillo, who is practicing in the clinic fulltime and accepting new patients with a referral.
“We are thrilled to have partnered with CNOS once again and have Dr. Jaramillo join our neurology clinic in Fort Dodge,” said Leah Glasgo, CEO and president of UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge. “Dr. Jaramillo began practicing at UnityPoint Clinic Kenyon Road — Neurology in October 2022 and has already received amazing feedback from his patients. His expertise and compassion are a great addition to UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge.”
Jaramillo provides neurological care for pediatric and adult patients. To better evaluate and understand a patient’s condition, Jaramillo performs electromyography (EMG), a test to evaluate the health of muscles and the nerve cells that control them, on patients without the assistance of an EMG technician.
“One of my favorite aspects of being a neurologist is building trusting relationships and rapport with my patients through listening, education, and offering evidence-based options for their medical needs,” said Jaramillo. “It is my privilege to care for all patients, especially when they are dealing with difficult situations.”
Jaramillo, or “Dr. J” for short, comes to UnityPoint Clinic with extensive knowledge and experience in the neurological field. Originally from Medell, Colombia, he began his medical career at a Veterans Administration Medical Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico, practicing internal medicine.
He moved to the United States to continue his education by entering a neurology residency program at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.
“My passion for a higher level of medical education and quality care led me to completing four fellowships in neurology: neuromuscular neurology, stroke neurocritical care, vascular neurology and neurophysiology,” Jaramillo said.
