Friendship Haven’s Halverson now licensed chaplain
Denise Halverson, director of spiritual care at Friendship Haven, is now a licensed chaplain.
She joined the staff in 2016 as the director of engagement. Less than one year ago, Halverson embraced a new role as the director of spiritual care.
Earning an International Fellowship of Chaplains license requires meeting several rigorous criteria. She successfully completed IFOC courses, provided recommendations from community business leaders and a pastor, underwent an extensive background investigation, and interviewed with members of the IFOC Credentialing Committee.
As a chaplain, Halverson is dedicated to serving the spiritual care needs of Friendship Haven residents, families, and team members. Her role encompasses worship leadership, Bible study and devotional services, grief support, hospital visitation, and offering spiritual guidance through life transitions.
She has been an active participant in lay ministry for several years and is a longtime resident of Fort Dodge.
