Jessica Carr, a social worker for the Berryhill Center and Trinity Emergency Department, was named the July Employee of the Month at UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge.

She was nominated by a team member in the Emergency Department for building relationships with team members and quickly building rapport with behavioral health patients and their families.

“Jessica establishes a trusting relationship that allows patients and their families to openly share information, concerns and fears in order to provide the best services and outcome for the patient,” the nominator wrote. “She is always seeking new opportunities to grow and to help our team grow in their abilities to help care for patients.”

The Emergency Department team describes Carr as a highly valued member, whose knowledge and expertise allow them to provide a better level of service to behavioral health patients. The team says she is thoughtful, kind and actively listens – allowing each patient to share their story.
