CJ BIO completes threonine transition
CJ BIO America announced the completion of the planned transition of Threonine Pro, increasing its active L-threonine content from 80 percent to 85 percent. CJ BIO’s facility in Webster County began manufacturing Threonine Pro 85 percent in June, ceasing production of 80 percent material.
Threonine Pro was first introduced to the U.S. market in 2019. It has since become the number one selling source of Thr supplementation due to the trend to onshoring, and the product’s improved handling characteristics.
“The CJ team has done a great job helping customers transition,” said Joe Lucas, vice president and general manager — North America Animal Nutrition “This change demonstrates our commitment to continuously improve our technology. The new Threonine Pro 85 percent maintains the same high quality, with the benefits of free-flowing granularity, and it will continue to be made in the USA.”
Lance Choi, CEO of CJ Americas BIO, said, “In the current climate of supply chain challenges, CJ BIO is committed to providing a stable supply of amino acids in the US market.”
Lucas added, “As we anticipate tightening market inventory in the U.S., CJ BIO will reinforce our supply chain resiliency to meet our contracted customer’s needs.”
