Rasmussen receives ROSE Award

Yustika Rasmussen

Yustika Rasmussen, a patient care technician in Acute Care, received the ROSE Award at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Regional Medical Center.

She was nominated by a patient, who shared about their time together.

” I was experiencing some very low blood sugars, and the protocol meant a lot of glucose monitoring,” the patient said. “Tika showed extraordinary concern each time she came to take my blood sugar. She was so sympathetic each time she pricked my finger. Outside of my blood sugar tests, Tika was very alert to my needs. She continued to check on me and follow up to make sure the nurse came in. I felt very safe in the hands of a patient care tech like Tika.”

The ROSE Award stands for Recognition Of Service Excellence and is handed out to patient care technicians who consistently demonstrate excellence through clinical expertise, extraordinary service and compassionate care. They are recognized as outstanding role models in the nursing community.

Patient care technicians can be nominated for the ROSE Award by patients, their family members or team members at UnityPoint Health.

Starting at $2.99/week.
