Thomason, Lewis, Strait receive Sunshine Award
Three employees of UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge have been honored with the Sunshine Award.
They are Jason Thomason, environmental services technician II; Amber Lewis, clinic supervisor, POB East Specialty Clinics; and Alexa Strait, radiology tech lead. The award recognizes non-nursing team members who rise above expectations to brighten the day of patients or team members through their brilliant, exemplary service.
Thomason was nominated by Heidi Jensen, medical technologist lead, laboratory, who shared, “Jason has been not only doing his EVS trash/cleaning route, but he has been helping delivering linen to different departments. He makes sure every department he touches throughout the day is taken care of.”
Lewis was nominated by Lori Platt, an LPN in neurology, who said, “Amber always has a on-point positive attitude — not only when it comes to our patients and what they need, but if one of her team members are in need, she is right there with solutions to make it better.”
Strait was nominated by Andrea Trushcheff, manager of radiology, who shared, “Alexa is always one to step up and take care of a situation, regardless of its origin or responsibility. She is 100 percent committed to what she does, and is very passionate about her work and her team. I can always count on her to see the bigger picture and to do whatever it takes to provide exceptional care to our community.”
