Annette Mackay, whose late husband was a member of Ashlar Lodge 111 holds the first minute book dating to the late 1850s. Mackay, worthy matron of the local Eastern Star, was a member of the Masonic Temple Association, the operating body for the building at 1021 First Ave. N. The building, completed in 1915, was sold to be used as a men’s homeless shelter.
