For those brave enough to venture out and about who thought they saw a giant penguin in the area of Central Avenue and 10th Street, we can assure them that they did, in fact, see just that. Patrick Hines, a resident of the Wahkonsa Apartments, put the costume on to help advertise available units in the building. He had several layers of warm clothing on under the costume and took frequent breaks. “I’ll grab a cup of coffee to warm up.” he said. It’s currently summer in Antarctica where many of the real penguins make their home.
