Grace Christensen holds an insulated container of water next to a bike tire as Jake Frye pedals quickly to heat the water. It was one of four events at the Physics Olympics held at Iowa Central Community College. Christensen and Frye were both seniors at Schaller-Crestland High School and were one of 11 teams that competed during the event. Their student-powered water heater warmed the water to 26.5 degrees Fahrenheit.
