Webster County Sheriff’s Deputy Brett Knippel stops to talk with a passerby in a tractor at the scene of an ultralight airplane mishap on 210th Street west of Hayes Avenue. According to Knippel, the pilot, Benjamin Joe Stanberg, 31, was taxiing on the road during an attempted takeoff when a gust of wind spun the craft sideways, causing damage to the front wheel yoke. Stanberg then pulled the craft into the ditch. He was not injured in the incident.
