Sisters Ansley and Hadley Oswald, along with friend Reagan Lee, saw an opportunity and jumped at it.

The three have created Set The Bar, an online boutique store offering a variety of clothing options at an affordable price. The website recently went live for viewing and purchasing.

“The idea for Set The Bar originated from a combination of personal passion and market need,” Ansley Oswald said. “Our team identified a gap in the boutique market. There is a demand for cute, trendy and affordable clothing, but that demand just wasn’t being met. We saw this as an opportunity for us to make a change.

“Our goal was to create an online boutique that offers exactly the trendy clothing people are searching for, but to offer it at very affordable prices. After much time spent precisely picking out clothing, creating a user-friendly website and piecing together every other aspect a business entails, we have launched a successful online business.”

Ansley and Hadley Oswald are current seniors at St. Edmond High School while Lee recently graduated from Humboldt High School.

“This rewarding journey that the three of us decided to take has been driven by a commitment to making boutique clothes that are high quality and trendy but that, most importantly, don’t break the bank,” Lee said. “The Set The Bar team is excited to continue growing, learning and making a positive impact on the boutique industry.”

Products currently offered include tops, bottoms, dresses, shoes, sets and bags. Those items are put into categories online such as cozy, going out, gameday and seasonal wear to make browsing easier. Set The Bar accepts all major debit and credit cards, PayPay, Google Pay and Shop Pay.

“Our process is designed to be seamless and customer-friendly,” Hadley Oswald said. “First, customers will have the opportunity to explore our products through the Set The Bar website. We’ve invested in creating an easy to use and aesthetically pleasing website so our customers can view detailed product information and see high-quality images of the clothing so they make the best choices for them. Once they add products to their cart, they will be greeted by a step by step process to check out and place their order.

“The customer will then receive a receipt via email and their shipment should be at their doorstep in five-to-seven days. Our goal was to provide a hassle-free experience for our customers from browsing to receiving their products and we feel we have done just that.”

Plenty of planning went into this for all three, including help from family and friends. And even in the early stages, they have already set benchmarks and plans for future growth.

“Primarily, we aim to make boutique clothing and accessories affordable to the average American,” Lee said. “Secondly, we are also focused on making our customers feel good in what they are wearing, but also look good. Our team envisions steady growth through our marketing strategies, relationships we build with our customers and our online presence.

“A goal the Set The Bar team is reaching for is to go out in public and see our beloved customers wearing our clothing with confidence. This means we are reaching our goals.”

The trio also view their youth as an asset to the success of Set The Bar.

“Starting a business at a young age is incredibly exciting and rewarding,” Ansley Oswald said. “It offers a unique opportunity to bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the table. The enthusiasm and energy that come with youth can be a powerful driving force in shaping and growing the business.

“We plan on using this enthusiasm and energy to propel Set The Bar forward. While any business certainly comes with its challenges, such as navigating experience gaps and building a network, the journey is also filled with learning and growth. It allows our team to build crucial skills, gain valuable experience and make a meaningful impact early on.

“We are passionate about leveraging this opportunity to drive success and contribute positively to the industry. The support and encouragement Set The Bar has received has truly been motivating, and our team is very eager to see where this journey takes us.”
