Dunham’s to debut Nov. 8

Sporting goods store returns to Fort Dodge

Dunham’s Sports has announced that it is returning to Fort Dodge in time for the holiday shopping season.

Its new store in Corridor Plaza will open Nov. 8.

Store hours will be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

“Fort Dodge has always been a great community for Dunham’s Sports and we are excited to be returning bigger and better than ever,” said David Lynn, Dunham’s president.

The new Dunham’s offers expanded footwear and apparel departments, a large hunt, fish, camp and water sports area, and a broad selection of fitness equipment. In addition, Dunham’s Sports offers an expanded selection of equipment for all team sports from youth through adult, a large golf department, a broad selection of indoor and outdoor games, Go-Carts and Mini-Bikes, work wear, denim, hydration and much more. The store will feature big name brands like Under Armour, Adidas, Carhartt, Yeti, Callaway Golf, Levi’s, Brooks, Skechers and many more.

Dunham’s Sports is one of the largest sporting goods chains in the country, operating 260 stores in 25 states. Founded in 1937 as Dunham’s Bait & Tackle, Dunham’s Sports has grown to become the leading full-line sporting goods chain in secondary and tertiary markets in the United States.

The new Dunham’s Sports store occupies most of what used to be the Younkers wing of the former Crossroads Mall. The retail chain previously had a store in the mall. It closed in 2022.

In January, representatives of Dunham’s Sports and the developers of Corridor Plaza announced that the business would return to Fort Dodge with a new, larger store. Necessary renovations to the Younkers wing began soon after that announcement, with the stated goal of having the store open in time for the holiday shopping season.

Maurice’s and Shoe Sensation will also be opening new stores in the former Younkers wing, which Corridor Plaza developers now call the Power Center.

Starting at $2.99/week.
