UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge has earned a 2024 Performance Leadership Award from The Chartis Center for Rural Health for demonstrating their commitment to providing exceptional rural healthcare.
For its commitment to providing exceptional rural health care, UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge earned a 2024 Performance Leadership Award from The Chartis Center for Rural Health.
The Performance Leadership Awards honor rural hospitals that rank in the top 25 percent nationwide for quality, outcomes, and patient perspectives.
“It’s an honor to advocate for health care in our rural communities and we are seeing great work being done to improve access and quality of care,” said Leah Glasgo, president of UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge. “Earning the Performance Leadership Award is a reflection of our team’s dedication to providing the highest level of care to our patients.”
The recognition from the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX, is based on a comprehensive and objective framework that assesses how rural hospitals perform. These benchmarks are relied upon by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations and state offices of rural health to measure performance across multiple areas impacting hospital operations and finance.
“The Performance Leadership Awards capture the commitment, diligence and innovation with which America’s rural hospitals approach the delivery of care within their communities,” said Troy Brown, a network consultant with The Chartis Center for Rural Health. “It’s a tremendous honor to be able to recognize the efforts of this year’s award winners and celebrate their achievement.”
Additionally, Glasgo was elected to serve a three-year term as an at-large delegate to Regional Policy Board 6 by the Board of Trustees of the American Hospital Association. The board assists in fostering and maintaining communication between AHA, its membership and state associations through a regional network. At-large and state appointed delegates provide input on policy issues, serve on policy development committees when appropriate, assist in implementing association policy and programs and identify problems and needs unique to the region.
Glasgo has served as president of UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge since January 2019. In addition to her Fort Dodge leadership responsibilities, she served as interim market president for UnityPoint Health — Sioux City from November 2020 to May 2021 and from July 2022 to October 2023.
Glasgo is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the Iowa Hospital Association Board of Directors, Fort Dodge Betterment Association, Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance and the Athletics for Education and Success boards.
