ROCKWELL CITY — Trent Blair has been a Rockwell City area pig farmer for many years.
Despite his success on the country side, he and his family decided to add to their resume by buying a car dealership in their hometown. Hometown Motors blossomed soon after he took over in early December. While the family has plenty of experience with the farm, the car dealership has been a sort of a learn as you go proposition.
“Once everyone gets set in their roles and we can all come to work and hammer this stuff out, we will be going really well,” he said. “There is a learning curve. The service staff is intact, and the sales and front office staff is in process. We encourage customers to come see us though, as we have a strong inventory of Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, and Ram vehicles in stock.”
The family ties are deep for Hometown Motors, according to Blair.
“We look forward to serving the entire area and region with our top-of-the-line service and great deals,” he said.

Hometown Motors offers a team with the same great service. Jim Fonken, Corey Kraft-Daisy, Mike Berger, Joe Simpson, Hunter Dunn, and Lydia Leith remain in the service area, The front end of the dealership is a brand-new team featuring Mason Taylor as office manager and salesmen Don Smith and Joe Berger. Blair is looking to add to the sales team and finance office. If interested in joining Hometown Motors, individuals are encouraged to stop in, call, or email resumes to sales@hometownmotorsrc.com.
Blair indicated new inventory comes onto the lot often as Hometown Motors works with other local dealers to cater for their customers’ individual needs and wants.
The Fonken Special and detail specialist pricing are available with future plans including a facelift on the outside coming in the summer of 2025.
Hometown Motors, part of the Rockwell City community at 527 Court St., is open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
