But recently, the owners realized that there was an even bigger base for providing those one-of-a-kind items year-round.

All of that led to the creation of The Apple Attic, located at 336 South 25th Street in Fort Dodge. Just like at the Orchard, The Apple Attic offers those same incredible items even when the Orchard is closed for the season.

“I really enjoy The Apple Attic aspect of the Orchard,” Stucky said. “I thought it would be nice to have it offered year-round.”

After finding the right location and doing some handy work, the site was open for business in late February.

“We just had to build some dressing rooms, paint and build some displays,” Stucky said. “From there, we ordered all new inventory for the new location.”

Many of the same items will still be offered at the Orchard when it is open and in-season.

“We will have women’s clothing, accessories, jewelry and purses,” Stucky said, “along with some home decor.”

Emily and Denny Stucky purchased the Community Orchard in 2022 from Greg and Bev Baedke, who had owned and operated it for over 40 years.

The Apple Attic will be open year-round from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
