Some Fort Dodge firefighters check the roof of the Walmart store at 3036 First Ave. S. early Friday afternoon after a small fire was reported there. Assistant Fire Chief Lenny Sanders said debris in a downspout caught fire. He said a store employee put out the fire with a dry chemical extinguisher. Store Manager Brad Henderson said no smoke got into the store. The fire was reported at 1 p.m. While firefighters were on scene, a medical emergency was reported in the store’s employee breakroom. Two firefighters immediately went there to take care of the patient before the ambulance from UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center arrived.
