A second person has been charged in connection with a robbery in October that eventually led to the victim being taken to another location.
Kayla Reynolds, 31, of Fort Dodge, has been charged with one count of first-degree robbery.
She made her initial appearance on the charge Friday in Webster County Magistrate Court. Her bond has been set at $25,000 cash-only.
Investigators had previously charged Keaton Collins, 28, with first-degree robbery and second-degree kidnapping in connection with the incident, which happened on Oct. 21.
According to the criminal complaint, filed with the Webster County attorney’s office, Reynolds allegedly “lured” the victim, a man from Webster City, to her apartment at 624 Dakota St.
While there, the victim was allegedly assaulted by Collins and “several other individuals” who were armed with weapons, including guns, a 2-by-4 and a knife, according to the complaint.
The victim was then allegedly taken to an apartment in the 2800 block of 10th Avenue North.
On the way, Collins ordered the victim to stop, the complaint states. Collins then went into the apartment, leaving the victim in the car.
The victim “stated that when he saw officers at the apartment building he needed to approach the officers for help because he feared that Keaton and the other parties involved were going to harm him.”
Collins has pleaded not guilty to the charges. He is being held in the Webster County Jail on $50,000 cash-only bond.
Reynolds’ preliminary hearing has been set for Nov. 26.
