Gage Mericle, of Fort Dodge, reeled in the catch of the day, once a pet goldfish, in the pond at Armstrong Park Sunday. He was fishing there during a period when there was no limit on size or the number of fish caught in an effort to harvest as many fish as possible before the pond is drained beginning today in the first phase of a water quality improvement project. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources calls such fishing with no limits ‘‘promiscuous fishing.’’
