STANHOPE – A Stratford woman has died after the vehicle she was driving was hit by a semitractor-trailer early Saturday morning, according to Iowa State Patrol crash reports.

The crash was reported at 1:44 a.m.

Danyel McFarland, 41, was traveling eastbound on 330th Street in a Pontiac G5. According to the Iowa State Patrol, McFarland failed to stop at the Iowa Highway 17 intersection.

Scott McCloud, 46, of Ogden, was driving a semi northbound on Iowa Highway17.

He was unable to stop before colliding with McFarland’s vehicle, according to the reports.

McFarland was pronounced dead at the scene.

McCloud was transported to a Boone hospital with injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, Stratford Volunteer Fire Department and Stanhope Volunteer Fire Department responded.
