Chris Weiland, right, shares a conversation with fellow Fort Dodge police officers Wednesday evening outside of the Webster County Law Enforcement Center after working his final shift. Wednesday marked exactly 10 years that Weiland served the FDPD, according to Chief Roger Porter. Weiland completed his last call over the police radio. Multiple officers congratulated him and thanked him for his service. Porter described Weiland as a great officer and a great man. “He’s done an awesome job,” Porter said. Porter added that Weiland deserved to be honored and celebrated. Weiland has accepted a position at the Fort Dodge Regional Airport. Standing to his right are officers Nicholas Ruggles, Keegun Marsh and Leighton Walker.
