Matt Johnson named Loring Hospital CEO

SAC CITY — The interim chief executive officer of Loring Hospital in Sac City has been named to that post on a permanent basis.

The appointment of Matt Johnson was announced Friday.

“On behalf of the UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge and Loring Hospital, I am very pleased to announce Matt as the new CEO at Loring Hospital,” said Leah Glasgo, president and CEO of UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge. “Matt is an experienced health care executive that has served rural Iowa communities since 2016. During his interim CEO role, Matt has built strong relationships inside and outside of the hospital.”

Johnson has served as the interim Loring Hospital CEO since late November 2022. He has extensive rural hospital leadership experience. More than eight years ago, he began his career in health care leadership at Cherokee Regional Medical Center, ultimately being named their CEO in 2016. Since then, he has served in various hospital executive leadership roles in Iowa.
