Webster County Sheriff’s Office hires new deputy
A new deputy will be joining the Webster County Sheriff’s Office later this month.
On Tuesday, the Webster County Board of Supervisors approved the hiring of Harmon Atwood, who is currently a patrol officer with the Fort Dodge Police Department. Atwood has been with the Fort Dodge Police Department for more than five years and has been a team leader on the local Special Emergency Response Team.
“Mr. Atwood brings his years of valuable experience, work ethic and knowledge to our department and will be a great asset to the Webster County Sheriff’s Office,” Sheriff Luke Fleener wrote in his recommendation to the board.
Atwood also spent seven years with the Iowa Army National Guard, where he served as a combat medical sergeant and an infantry team leader.
Atwood will begin his duties with the Sheriff’s Office on April 24.
