EMMETSBURG — Farmer’s Market is 8 a.m. to noon SATURDAY on the north side of the Palo Alto County Courthouse on 10th Street, Emmetsburg.
OTHO — Market at the Park is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. SUNDAY at the Otho City Park. There will be vendors, crafters, direct sales, fresh produce and food trucks.
OTHO — Otho Betterment Committee 7th annual Chili Cook-off is SATURDAY at the Otho City Park. Bloody Mary contest public tasting is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $5. Chili public tasting is 2 to 4 p.m. for $5 for a bowl and spoon. There will be bounce houses, balloon animals and a magic show at 12:30 p.m. There will be food trucks, 50/50 raffle, Blackstone raffle and silent auction.
BADGER — Badger Lions Club Pancake Breakfast is 8 a.m. to noon SUNDAY at the Badger Fire Station, Badger. All the pancakes you can eat plus sausage, eggs, orange juice, milk or coffee will be served for a freewill donation ($7 per person last year). Those attending are encouraged to bring used eyeglasses and hearing aids for the Lions to recycle. Net profit will support community and Lions projects.
WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library, Webster City, Spice of the Month Club will meet from 10 a.m. to noon TODAY at the library. Cinnamon will be the featured spice. A limited number of kits will be available with a small sample, information about the spice and a couple of recipes to try.
MANSON — Saint Thomas Catholic Church, Manson, is holding a Roast Beef Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. SUNDAY in the parish hall. Tickets are $15 per person with children ages 3 and under free. Takeouts are available by calling 712-469-3515. The Knights of Columbus will deliver only within the city limits.

FORT DODGE — Farmers Market is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. SATURDAY at 11 N. 25th St.
FORT DODGE — First United Methodist Church, 127 N. 10th St., is holding a Rummage Sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. TODAY and 9 a.m. to noon SATURDAY. Enter through west side church doors. All proceeds from the sale support missions and local non-profit organizations.
FORT DODGE — Lutheran Woman’s Mission League and Sewing Group Quilt, Craft and Bake Sale is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. SATURDAY at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1023 S. 27th St. A freewill donation lunch including walking tacos will be served. Proceeds go to Orphan Grain Train and Home Missions.
FORT DODGE — 2023 Apple Fest is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. SATURDAY and SUNDAY at the Community Orchard, 2237 160th St. There will be wagon rides, pumpkin patch, corn maze, farm games and food.
FORT DODGE — Oktoberfest is 2 to 10 p.m. SATURDAY at the Oleson Park Music Pavilion, 1400 Oleson Park Ave. There will be food, beer and music. Live college football broadcast is 2 to 10 p.m. and live music from 4 to 10 p.m. Jesse Wilson performs at 4:30 p.m., Brutal Republic at 6:30 p.m. and Cory Waller and The Wicked Things at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person.
FORT DODGE — Blessing of the Animals is 2 p.m. SUNDAY in the parking lot of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 1007 First Ave. S. Bring your furry or feathered friends on their leashes or in their cages, or a picture of a pet, past or present, and a lawn chair. If it rains, the event will be moved inside. There will be a freewill offering with all donations going to Almost Home Humane Society of North Central Iowa.
FORT DODGE — Walk to End Alzheimer’s is SATURDAY at the Fort Dodge Middle School, 800 N. 32nd St. Registration is at 8 a.m., ceremony at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 9:30 p.m. Register at alz.org/walk
FORT DODGE — Webster County Speedway Figure 8 Nationals are 7 p.m. TODAY and 6 p.m. SATURDAY at the Webster County Fairgrounds, 22770 Old Highway 169. Pit prices per day are pit pass $25, drive $35 and ROC entry is $10. Grandstand prices per day are $10 for adults, $5 for ages 6 to 12 and free for ages 5 and under.
FORT DODGE — Hawkeye Community Theatre, 521 N. 12th St., presents “The Curse of the Werewolf” at 7 p.m. TODAY and 2 and 7 p.m. SATURDAY at the theatre. Tickets are $10 per person.
