FDCSD buys concession equipment
Mowing contract awarded for district properties
A new concession stand will be part of the update of iconic Dodger Stadium that has commenced in Fort Dodge.
The equipment inside that new concession stand will be all new as well. District Superintendent Josh Porter said it was decided to replace the equipment rather than haul the old stuff back in when the construction is done.
On Monday, the district’s Board of Education approved buying new appliances from Rapids Wholesale Equipment Co., of Marion, for $24,823.58.
The district will be receiving a new freezer, refrigerator, warming machine, hot dog roller, pretzel warmer, hot chocolate machine and coffee machine. The purchase contract includes delivery and installation.
Dodger Stadium, built in 1939, is getting its first major overhaul since it opened. In addition to the concession stand, the project will produce new locker rooms, restrooms, a new entryway, reconfigured parking and updated lighting and security cameras.
Kolacia Construction, of Fort Dodge, has a $4.87 million contract for the job. The work is to be done by May 2025.
Also on Monday, the board hired Stone Creek Landscape and Nursery, of Fort Dodge, to do the mowing and weed control on district properties.
The company was awarded a three-year contract. It will be paid $42,150 this year, $43,500 in 2025 and $44,000 in 2026.
