The Webster County Courthouse on Central Avenue is shown in a file photo from September 2023. The Webster County supervisors took action on several issues, including paving projects and approving raises for some Webster County officials, on Tuesday.

Some of Webster County’s elected officials will be getting 2 percent raises on July 1.

The county supervisors, however, will not be among them.

The Board of Supervisors approved the raises for the sheriff, county attorney, auditor, recorder and treasurer Tuesday morning. There was no debate. Supervisor Nick Carlson was absent from the otherwise unanimous vote.

As a result of the raises, these will be the increased salaries for officials when the new fiscal year begins:

• County Attorney Darren Driscoll — $139,718

• Sheriff Luke Fleener — $115,073

• Auditor Doreen Pliner — $83,569

• Recorder Lindsay Laufersweiler — $83,569

• Treasurer Brenda Angstrom — $83,569

The salary of Niki Conrad, chairwoman of the Board of Supervisors, will remain at $47,407. The salaries of supervisors Mark Campbell, Austin Hayek, Bob Thode and Carlson will remain at $46,369.

The county Compensation Board, which is tasked with recommending raises for the elected officials, proposed 9.5 percent raises for the attorney, sheriff, auditor, recorder and treasurer when it met on Jan. 18. It did not recommend any increases for the supervisors.

Starting at $2.99/week.
