The Webster County Board of Supervisors approved the final plat for a single family residential subdivision Tuesday.
The DBJG Properties Subdivision, First Addition, will consist of 14 single family residential lots on approximately 8.35 acres of land located approximately one-quarter mile northwest of the intersection of Old Highway 169 and 230th Street. This is south of the Webster County Fairgrounds.
“This plat has been coordinated with the City of Fort Dodge,” said Webster County Planning and Zoning Administrator Jeff Johnson. “A majority of these lots will have access off a new street called Fairway Lane which is dedicated to the county and will be built to county standards. We’re excited for this to get going and to get some houses built here in Fort Dodge.”
During Tuesday’s meeting, Webster County Treasurer Brenda Angstrom placed her semiannual report for January 2024-July 2024 on file with acceptance of the supervisors. The report consists of 47 active funds for the county.
Beginning balance for fiscal year 2023 was $11,889.50, total revenue $194,471.23, with an ending balance of $206,370.63 for the year.
According to Angstrom, the beginning balance for fiscal year 2024 was $52,881.36 with total revenue of $839,341.54, creating a beginning balance for fiscal year 2025 of $892,222.90. The difference between the two fiscal years, said Angstrom, was $685,852.27.
“That’s impressive,” said Webster County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Niki Conrad.
The supervisors also opened a public hearing to discuss an amendment to the Webster County Code regulating platting in the county.
According to Auditor Doreen Pliner and Attorney Darren Driscoll, the amendment would rescind a previously approved 2023 amendment which removed the “plat of survey” requirement that could be provided in lieu of a plat. Driscoll stated that in making this change, the county would be aligned with State of Iowa Code.
At Tuesday’s meeting, the Board of Supervisors also authorized the hiring of Julee Wilson as victim/witness coordinator for the Webster County Attorney’s Office. Wilson will begin the role on Aug. 5 with an annual salary of $48,000.
The alcohol license for the Badger Lake Dragon Boat Association was also approved, as was the repair of a drainage tile line in section 15 of Burnside Township.
