The Webster County Sheriff’s Office is going digital with a new interactive app.

The Webster County Sheriff’s Office is going digital with a new interactive app.

The app, which will launch in early December, will include accident notifications, the opportunity to submit a tip, permit to carry applications, sex offender mapping, civil processes and procedures, meet the deputies links, and more.

“We are excited to announce that we will have the Webster County Sheriff’s Office phone app up and running in the next few weeks,” said Sheriff Luke Fleener. “This will be a great way for the citizens in Webster County to have easy access to information about our office, jail and sex offender information and weapon permit applications.”

The app, which is being created by the Sheriff App company, will be monitored by administration for information that is sent in and, according to Fleener, will be another way for residents to know what’s happening throughout the county.

“The app will also allow individuals to submit a tip about criminal activity, ongoing investigations or someone who is wanted,” said Fleener. “The app will automatically notify the administration when information is sent in by residents. We will also use this app to increase communication with the public on press releases, updates and notices and weather-related information.”

Fleener said he also believes that the app will streamline some of the work done by the department’s clerical team.

Webster County will be one of 10 sheriff’s offices in Iowa utilizing mobile app technology.

“This technology will help to increase our communication with our citizens,” said Fleener. “We believe that with today’s technology, this is a worthy investment to increase our service to the citizens of Webster County. The offices that are using this app have found it to be beneficial.”

Starting at $2.99/week.
