This popular holiday attraction sponsored by the Humboldt/Dakota City Noon Kiwanis Club, has been visited by more than 115,000 people since its opening in 1982. Visitors from most of the 50 U.S. states and some foreign countries have seen the displays. Last year there were an estimated 2,500 visitors to Kiwanis Christmasland. The goal of the exhibit is to provide an attraction that people of all ages can enjoy.

It is located directly south of Humboldt City Hall at 407 First Ave. S., one block south of the Law Enforcement Center.

For 2024, there are some reconditioned scenes and new animations on display. There is a new sound system, updated train engines, children’s stockings from our Christmas in July event and much more. The self-guided tour is available free of charge.

Here are the dates and hours the attraction will be open.

Friday — 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Saturday — 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Sunday– 2:30-4:30 p.m.

Dec. 6 –6:30-8:30 p.m.

Dec. 7 — 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Dec. 8 — 2:30-4:30 p.m.

Dec. 13 — 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Dec. 14 — 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Dec. 15 — 2:30-4:30 p.m.

Dec. 20 — 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Dec. 21 — 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Dec. 22 — 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Dec. 23 — 2:30-4:30 p.m. and 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Dec. 24 — 2:30-4:30 p.m.

Christmasland will not be open on Christmas eve evening, or Christmas day.

Christmasland will be closed for inclement weather. Notification will be posted outside. If time allows, notification will be made on Facebook, www.humboldtnews.com and KHBT radio.

Christmasland will be open by arrangement for group tours. Call Karen Sorensen at 515-890-0864 to schedule a day and time. All school groups, nursing homes, group homes, church groups, businesses and civic organizations are welcome.
