Jack Link’s to lay off 91 employees

LAURENS — Ninety-one employees at the Jack Link’s distribution center in Laurens received word last week that they will soon be without a job.

According to the Iowa Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) web site, Jack Link’s notified the state on Nov. 7 that 91 employees would lose their jobs as part of a mass layoff.

The employees’ last day will be Jan. 24, 2025.

The mass layoff is the third in just over two years for the employer, with the company laying off 57 employees in September 2022 and 46 employees in September 2023.

The Laurens location of Jack Link’s is one of two distribution centers in Iowa. The other is located in Underwood.

Jack Link’s is an international foods company making jerky and meat sticks. It is headquartered in Minong, Wisconsin.
