ROCKWELL CITY — A Des Moines man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexually abusing a 14-year-old child in Lohrville in May 2023.

Matthew E. Wilson, 20, pleaded guilty to sexual abuse in the third degree in October.

On Monday, Chief District Court Judge Adria Kester sentenced Wilson to the maximum term of incarceration, 10 years in prison without the possibility of parole, and ordered he be placed on the sex offender registry for life. Wilson also has multiple no-contact orders filed against him, has had his firearm rights revoked, and must also pay victim restitution and court costs.

Wilson is currently being held in the Carroll County Jail.
