Nelson named VP of Growth Alliance
Leadership role to begin Jan. 1
Jill Nelson has been named vice president of the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance.
Nelson, who has served as the Growth Alliance’s community and development director since August 2014, will begin her new role on Jan. 1, 2025.
‘I am honored to step into the role of vice president and look forward to continuing to work with the Growth Alliance team, community partners, and our members and investors,” said Nelson.
In the new role, Nelson will focus on community engagement and investor relations while stepping into an organizational leadership position alongside Astra Ferris, chief executive officer of the Growth Alliance.
“Jill has been an invaluable asset to the Growth Alliance,” said Ferris. “Her dedication to building relationships, supporting our members, and fostering opportunities for growth has been exceptional. Jill’s leadership will strengthen our mission to unify economic and community development efforts and support our region’s growth.”
In her previous role, Nelson organized multiple community initiatives including Leadership Fort Dodge and its Junior Leadership programs, legislative forums, and Leading Ladies.
“Jill is an optimistic, supportive, and intelligent leader with a unique background in large retail management, agriculture, and community development,” said Luke Hugghins, board president for the Growth Alliance. “Her expertise serving this region is always compounding so Growth Alliance members appreciate Jill’s accelerating impact in all that she does, and we are excited to partner with her in this new capacity.”
