Two new troopers will be joining District 7, which is the Fort Dodge office of the Iowa State Patrol.
Trooper Bennett Eaton and Trooper Benjamin Gunderson both graduated from the Iowa Department of Public Safety’s 51st Basic Academy on Dec. 20 and have been assigned to the Fort Dodge district office.
“We are incredibly proud of the accomplishments of our newest troopers and extend our gratitude for their dedication to the safety and well-being of Iowa’s communities,” said Stephan Bayens, commissioner of the Iowa Department of Public Safety. “In a world full of challenges and opportunities, they have chosen a path of service and commitment. We are honored to have them join our ranks and are grateful for their willingness to be counted.”
Gunderson also received the Iowa Department of Public Safety’s Earnest Baty Jr. Physical Fitness Award.
The Iowa Department of Public Safety is the largest law enforcement agency in the state. It includes seven divisions and several bureaus, all working together with local, state and federal government agencies.
