State representatives Mike Sexton and Ann Meyer now know what committees they will serve on for the next two legislative sessions.

Sexton, of Rockwell City, and Meyer, of Fort Dodge, are Republicans who represent Webster County.

It was previously announced by House Speaker Pat Grassley, R-New Hartford, that Sexton would again be chairman of the Agriculture Committee. The farmer and sheep rancher has held that post since 2022.

On Wednesday, Grassley announced that Sexton will also serve on the Administrative Rules Review, Economic Growth and Technology, Natural Resources, and Ways and Means committees.

Meyer was named to the Appropriations, Health and Human Services, and Transportation committees. She was previously the chairwoman of the Health and Human Services Committee.

Grassley has previously announced that Meyer will serve as the chairwoman of the Appropriations subcommittee on Health and Human Services. That panel plays a leading role in preparing the roughly $2 billion human services budget.
