FD schools name January students, staff of month
The Fort Dodge Community School District announces the January 2025 Students and Staff of the Month Honorees.
This program recognizes one elementary, one middle school, and one high school student, as well as one staff member, monthly for exceeding expectations.
Donovan Echevarria is the Elementary Student of the Month. Donovan attends Cooper Elementary.
Chelsea Phan nominated Donovan, writing that Donovan genuinely cares about the well-being of others and shows great compassion toward all students and staff.
Ray’Zaria Parker is the Middle School Student of the Month.
The 8 Blue Team nominated Ray’Zaria, writing, “Ray’Zaria always has a positive attitude and smile on her face. She works well with her peers.
“Ray’Zaria is thorough when doing her work. She participates in class by asking questions. She clearly wants to do well in her classes. Ray’Zaria works hard in all of her classes. She is a great example of what being a Dodger is all about.”
Jabek Dunbar is the Senior High Student of the Month.
Ross DeArmoun nominated Jabek, writing, “Jabek always tries hard in class, he is always asking questions about the material. Jabek is in bowling, and when he will be gone he asks ahead so he can be prepared.
“Jabek is a model character because he is always kind to everyone. He likes to have a good time and wants others to be involved.”
LaShonda Small is the Employee of the Month.
Adam Smith nominated LaShonda, writing, “Lashonda consistently demonstrates exceptional dedication to her role, providing invaluable support across multiple classrooms. She goes above and beyond by assisting students who are not her own, ensuring they receive the attention and care they need.
“Lashonda arrives early and stays late, consistently offering her time and effort to enhance the learning environment. Her willingness to lend a helping hand to fellow staff members highlights her collaborative spirit and strong work ethic. Through her actions, Lashonda truly embodies the core values of Fort Dodge Community Schools, making a positive and lasting impact on both students and colleagues alike.”
