Two pets died in a Saturday afternoon fire that erupted in a Fort Dodge house. No one was injured.

The fire at 945 S. 17th St. was reported at 1:18 p.m.

When firefighters arrived, the entire front of the house was engulfed in flames.

Assistant Fire Chief Matt Price said the fire was largely contained to an enclosed front porch. He said two cats died and two dogs survived. He said the two people who were home escaped unharmed.
