First baby born in the new year

Koa Mason Blair, a baby boy, was the first baby of 2025 to be born at UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Makenna Naeve and Noah Blair, of Humboldt, are Koa’s proud parents.

Makenna Naeve and Noah Blair, of Humboldt, rang in the new year as a family of two and hours later became a family of three.

The couple’s son, Koa Mason Blair was born at 12:47 p.m. Wednesday, at UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.

Born at 10 pounds, 1.5 ounces and 19.5 inches long, Blair was the first baby of the new year in Fort Dodge.

Popular 2024 baby names revealed

The most popular names given to babies born at UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center in 2024 were old fashioned favorites.

According to Molly Hiveley, communications specialist at UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge, Charlotte was the most popular girls’ name for 2024 and Oliver was the top name for boys.

Paisley, Amelia, Aurora, and Oakley/Oaklynn rounded out the top five names for girls.

Lukas/Luke, Myles/Miles, Hank, and Jack were the top boy names for babies born in 2024 at UnityPoint Health-Fort Dodge.

The labor and delivery team at Trinity Regional Medical Center helped nearly 450 families welcome a baby into the world in 2024.
