Two in custody after shooting, standoff
Victims hospitalized with gunshot wounds
POMEROY — Apartment buildings in Pomeroy and Manson are crime scenes after a fight turned into a double shooting and standoff on Tuesday.
According to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the altercation was between five males that all knew one another. That fight led to the exchange of gunfire. Two individuals were hospitalized with gunshot wounds.
Two of the individuals involved in the shooting were later found in an apartment in Manson. An armored vehicle was used to extract them and take them into custody.
The names of those involved and the condition of the two shooting victims is anticipated to be released by the DCI today.
The Calhoun County Attorney’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, the Manson Police Department, and the Fort Dodge Police Department are assisting the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office and DCI in the investigation.
