FD woman arrested again for meth
Rasmussen faces 30 years in prison
A Fort Dodge woman pleaded guilty to distribution of methamphetamine in federal court Monday, according to federal prosecutors.
In a plea hearing, Alesha Rasmussen, 34, admitted that on July 10, 2024, she distributed more than 28 grams of pure methamphetamine to an individual cooperating with law enforcement.
Rasmussen was also convicted in 2011 in federal court of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.
Rasmussen remains in the custody of the United States Marshal pending sentencing. She faces a possible maximum sentence of 30 years in prison, a $2 million fine, and at least six years of supervised release following imprisonment.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Patrick T. Greenwood and was investigated by the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Laboratory, Fort Dodge Police Department, and the Webster County Sheriff’s Office.
