Schossow distributed 22 pounds of fentanyl in Fort Dodge
A Fort Dodge woman pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court to conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, prosecutors say.
Braleigh Schossow, 24, is currently in the custody of the United States Marshals Service pending sentencing for the charge. She faces a mandatory minimum term of 10 years in prison with a possible sentence of life in prison.
At the plea hearing Tuesday, evidence showed that between December 2020 and February 2024, Schossow and others involved in the conspiracy distributed at least 22 pounds of fentanyl in Fort Dodge and elsewhere.
The case was investigated by the Tri-State Drug Task Force based in Sioux City that consists of law enforcement personnel from the Drug Enforcement Administration; Sioux City Police Department; Homeland Security Investigations; Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office; South Sioux City, Nebraska, Police Department; Nebraska State Patrol; Iowa National Guard; Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement; United States Marshals Service; South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation; and Woodbury County Attorney’s Office.
