The Iowa Central Community College Performing Arts Department paid tribute to St. Edmond and ICCC graduate Taryn (O’Tool) Menning during Saturday night’s presentation of its 2025 musical, “Legally Blonde.” Menning was a member of the cast when the school first performed the hit show in 2013 under the direction of Teresa Jackson. Menning passed away last fall at the age of 31 after a courageous battle with cancer. “Taryn was the epitome of grace, kindness, humility, talent and beauty,” said Jackson, who was directing her final musical this past week after 29 years at the helm. “Her loss is deeply felt by our Iowa Central family.” Former cast members gathered for an honorary “alumni” picture, and were asked to join the current group of performers on stage to close the Saturday night show.
