This is the view drivers had when approaching Central Avenue on North 12th Street Monday. The intersection of Central Avenue and 12th Street was closed as a major project to replace storm sewers and water mains began. After the fencing went up to keep vehicles out of the intersection, taking down the street lights was one of the first tasks for crews. Workers from Rasch Construction Inc., of Fort Dodge, and K & W Electric Inc., of Cedar Falls, were working there Monday afternoon.
