Webster County Crime Stoppers has increased the reward for information leading to the arrest of a Fort Dodge man wanted for attempted murder, going armed with intent, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The Fort Dodge Police Department and Webster County Attorney’s Office announced Thursday that the search for Dontay Diekman, 41, continues. As a result, Webster County Crime Stoppers is now offering a $500 reward for information leading to his arrest.

“For your safety, we advise against approaching Mr. Diekman directly,” said Fort Dodge Police Chief Dennis Quinn. “As we work diligently to bring this investigation to a peaceful conclusion, we also want to remind the public that knowingly assisting someone who is evading arrest can have legal consequences.”

Diekman is alleged to have shot a man in the face inside a residence at 1433 Fourth Ave. S. in Fort Dodge on Friday.
