Fort Dodge woman surprised with room makeover

Cheryl Fleming, of Fort Dodge, reacts to seeing her bedroom for the first time Sunday after organizers from My Happy Place — Fort Dodge remodeled her room. Fleming was diagnosed with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), often referred to as Lou Gehrig's disease, on May 1, 2024. ALS is a progressive terminal neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.
