Grant awarded for Business Park strategy
State gives Calhoun County $10K
ROCKWELL CITY — Calhoun County Economic Development will be able to create a marketing strategy for a business park with the aid of a newly awarded state grant.
The Iowa Economic Development Authority awarded a $10,000 grant for the project.
The money will be used to help pay for creating a marketing strategy for the Calhoun County Business Park, located north of Rockwell City near the intersection of U.S. Highway 20 and Iowa Highway 4.
The goal is to attract businesses, manufacturers and service providers to the park, especially to a 13.2 acre area that is deemed shovel-ready.
The money comes from the Building Ownership and Organization by Strengthening Teams.
“For struggling rural areas, this support can be transformative, helping local leaders to bring their vision to life, create and fill jobs and fuel economic progress where it’s needed most,” Debi Durham, director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority, said in a written statement.
“These grants encourage innovative ideas that enable small Iowa towns to stay vibrant and competitive,” she said.
